From the Studio - February 2019

We’ve been keeping the kilns busy finalising commissioned work, prepping for upcoming exciting projects and continuing to test and experiment with reactive glazes.

We said goodbye to January by finalising a Tile Mural project for a private customer. They commissioned us to create a great wave tile mural for their bathroom.

Layering rich blue reactive glazes using a hay brush we think the final outcome really expressed the spirit of the ocean. We can’t wait to see it in situ!

Reiko is currently creating a new collection of work for the Useful/Beautiful: Why Craft Matters exhibition at Harewood House near Leeds.

She will be one of twenty-five British makers, the exhibition highlights the breadth and importance of craft across contemporary culture. It’s set to be a fantastic exhibition with a diverse collection of work; from ceramics, furniture and glass to papercraft and lacquer.. and much much more.

Alongside the exhibition, we will be running a workshop, details to follow.

We hope to see you there, tickets to the exhibition will be available on the day. You can book or find out more information here.

In the meantime here is a sneak peak at some tests and ideas taking place in the studio this month.

We’ve been continuing our research into reactive glazing by testing and sampling new combinations and techniques. We look forward to sharing our results with you.
